INSTALLATION
OF ARBORS AND TRELLISES
To
install an ARBOR, follow steps below:
STEP
ONE
Move
the arbor to it's final location (you'll need a helper). When you are
satisfied with the location, mark the positions of the posts, then move
the arbor aside and lay it carefully on it's side. Dig a hole at least
6" wide and 12" deep for each post.
STEP
TWO
Attach
the anchors to the post using the screws provided.
STEP
THREE
Carefully
move the arbor back to it's final position. Support it plum and level
over the holes with bricks, stones or blocks of wood. The posts should
be close to the level of the ground surface.
STEP
FOUR
Fill
each hole with a 1/2 bag of concrete mixed. The concrete should come
to 1/4" of the bottom of the posts but the post should not be in
the concrete.
STEP
FIVE
Let
the concrete cure for the remainder of the job per the instructions
on the bag of concrete.
To
install a TRELLIS, follow the steps below:
STEP
ONE
Create
a "T" with two 6" green treated 2x4's. Screw them together
in five places (this is to prevent warping).
STEP
TWO
Bury
the "T post" with the 4" side facing forward. 24"
of the "T post" should be under ground and 48" should
be above ground. Plumb the post, then compact with soil.
STEP
THREE
Attach
the trellis to the "T post" with screws in three places. Pre-drill
to prevent splitting.
